As the photographer, my goal was to preserve not only the key moments of Angel and Kyle’s wedding, but also the atmosphere of the entire day—the anticipation during the preparations, the reactions of their families and friends, and the energy of the evening celebration. Below, you can explore the photo gallery and read a short story of how the day unfolded.
Angel and Kyle travelled from the United States to celebrate their destination wedding at Sri Panwa Phuket with more than 80 family members and friends.
Their wedding day brought together everything that makes a celebration in Phuket memorable: private villas, tropical views, an outdoor ceremony, a lively reception and the unpredictable island weather. We photographed the day for ten hours with a team of two photographers, while two videographers worked alongside us to document the celebration on film.
Getting Ready at Sri Panwa Phuket
The day began in separate villas, where Angel and Kyle prepared for the ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Our coverage combined natural documentary photography with relaxed group photographs and individual portraits. Having two photographers allowed us to work with the bride and groom at the same time without asking either of them to adjust their plans or wait for the team to move between locations.
Alongside the preparations, we photographed the details that helped tell the story of the day: jewellery, wedding accessories, personal items, clothing and the views surrounding the villas.
These early hours were not only about photographing the preparations themselves. They gave us time to capture conversations, laughter and smaller moments between the couple and the people closest to them.
An Outdoor Ceremony Overlooking Phuket
The ceremony began at 5:30 p.m. on one of Sri Panwa’s wedding terraces.
Before the guests arrived, we photographed the ceremony setting, décor and surrounding landscape. Once the ceremony started, my main attention remained with Angel and Kyle, while the second photographer captured guest reactions and additional perspectives.
This is one of the main advantages of working with two photographers during a larger wedding. Important moments often happen simultaneously, and a second perspective creates a more complete record of the ceremony without making the photography feel intrusive.
After the ceremony, we photographed the couple with their families and guests before moving on to a short portrait session.
A Few Minutes Before the Tropical Rain
The plan was to create the couple’s portraits in the evening light after the ceremony. Phuket, however, had something different in mind.
The sky had remained mostly clear throughout the day, with only a few light clouds. Shortly after the ceremony, instead of a sunset, a tropical rainstorm began to approach.
We had only a few minutes, but that was enough to create several outdoor portraits before moving into the restaurant. The wedding planner and the Sri Panwa team quickly adjusted the schedule and helped everyone relocate before the rain became stronger.
Weather changes are part of photographing weddings in Phuket. The best response is usually to stay calm, work quickly and adapt the plan without allowing the weather to take attention away from the celebration.
Although we did not get the sunset we expected, we completed the portraits, protected the schedule and continued the evening without unnecessary stress.
Evening Reception and Celebration
The reception continued inside the hotel restaurant, where the guests could enjoy the evening while the rain passed outside.
We photographed the entrance, dinner, speeches and interactions between the couple and their guests. The evening also included the first dance, wedding cake and a lively celebration on the dance floor.
At this stage of a wedding, I focus less on directing and more on observing. The goal is to preserve real expressions, movement and the atmosphere of the evening while still paying attention to composition and light.
With two photographers, we were able to cover the main events while also photographing guest reactions and smaller moments happening around the room.
Photography and Videography by One Team
Angel and Kyle’s wedding was documented by two photographers and two videographers. This allowed the team to cover preparations in separate villas, photograph the ceremony from different angles and follow events happening at the same time.
Working as one coordinated team also helps photography and video remain consistent throughout the day. Camera positions, lighting and the couple’s portrait time can be planned without the photographers and videographers competing for the same moments.

More Than 300 Photographs from the Wedding Day
Angel and Kyle received more than 300 carefully selected and edited photographs from their destination wedding at Sri Panwa Phuket.
The final gallery included preparations, individual portraits, wedding details, the ceremony, family and group photographs, couple portraits, the reception, first dance, wedding cake and evening celebration.
For the couple, it was important to receive more than a collection of formal portraits. They wanted the gallery to reflect the complete experience of the day—the setting, their guests, the unexpected weather and the atmosphere of the celebration.
They particularly appreciated our calm and efficient approach, help with posing, attention to detail and practical recommendations throughout the wedding day. Their completed photographs were delivered within the agreed timeframe.
Planning a Wedding at Sri Panwa Phuket
This real Sri Panwa Phuket wedding photography story shows why a flexible timeline and an experienced team are especially valuable for a destination wedding.
Sri Panwa offers several different settings within one property, including private villas, wedding areas, restaurants and viewpoints. This creates many photographic possibilities, but it also makes thoughtful planning important.
The distance between locations, the number of guests, ceremony time and planned reception events should all be considered when building the photography schedule. For a wedding of this size, having two photographers helped us cover simultaneous preparations and create a wider variety of photographs without placing additional pressure on the couple.
Every wedding requires a slightly different approach. The photography plan should reflect the venue, schedule and the moments that matter most to the couple—not follow a fixed template.
