A holiday in Phuket is often filled with moments that are difficult to capture when everyone is taking turns holding the camera. A professional photoshoot gives you the opportunity to enjoy the experience together and return home with photographs that reflect how your trip actually felt.
I’m Octav Cado, a Phuket-based photographer working with international clients since 2015. As a vacation photographer in Phuket, I plan relaxed personal sessions for couples, families, friends and solo travellers. My approach combines natural moments with simple direction, so you never need to know how to pose or prepare a complicated plan before contacting me.
A Relaxed Photography Experience During Your Phuket Holiday
A vacation photoshoot should feel like part of your trip, not another formal appointment added to your schedule.
Before the session, we discuss who will take part, where you are staying, the style you prefer and how you would like to use the photographs. Based on this information, I recommend a suitable format, location and time of day.
During the shoot, I provide clear and simple guidance when it is needed. We may begin with a few directed portraits and gradually move towards more natural photographs as you become comfortable in front of the camera.
The goal is to create a balanced gallery with portraits, wider environmental photographs, details and genuine interactions—not a collection of identical poses.
Private Photographer in Phuket: A Session Planned Around You
A private photoshoot in Phuket is planned exclusively for one person, couple, family or group. The session is not shared with other clients, allowing the timing, location, pace and photography style to be adapted to your preferences.
Working with a private photographer in Phuket allows the session to be planned around your schedule, preferred location and the people travelling with you.
Private booking does not automatically mean complete image confidentiality. If you prefer the photographs to remain fully private and not appear in my portfolio, website or social media, this should be agreed before booking.
Who Is a Phuket Vacation Photoshoot For?
Couples and Honeymooners
Phuket is a natural choice for a honeymoon, anniversary or a trip together. A couple’s session can be romantic without feeling overly staged.
We can create elegant portraits while also photographing the smaller moments between you: walking, talking, laughing and enjoying the surroundings together.

Families Travelling Together
A family holiday may bring several generations together in one place, sometimes for the first time in years. Professional photographs allow everyone to be included instead of leaving one person behind the camera.
Family sessions can include group portraits, photographs of parents with their children, individual combinations and natural moments between family members. The schedule and pace should always reflect the children’s ages and the size of the group.

Solo Travellers and Personal Portraits
A personal vacation photoshoot can be a record of your trip, a creative portrait experience or an opportunity to produce photographs for your personal brand and social media.
The style can be relaxed and natural or more polished and editorial, depending on your preferences. You can find additional examples on my portrait photographer in Phuket page.
Friends and Group Holidays
Travelling with friends is often full of spontaneous moments, but the photographs usually remain scattered across different phones.
A group session creates a consistent set of photographs that includes everyone. We can combine complete group portraits with smaller combinations, individual photographs and natural interactions.
Choosing a Location for Vacation Photography in Phuket
The right location depends on the atmosphere you want, where you are staying, the time available and the practical conditions on the day.
Possible settings include:
- Beaches and coastal areas
- Hotels and private villas
- Viewpoints
- Restaurants and cafés
- Urban streets
I can recommend hotels, beaches, restaurants and other places that may suit your session, but I do not provide or reserve locations.
Photography at hotels, villas, beach clubs, restaurants, golf clubs, marinas and other private venues may be limited to guests or customers. Some locations require advance approval or an additional photography fee. Access and permission should be confirmed directly with the venue before the shoot.

What Time Is Best for a Phuket Holiday Photoshoot?
The most suitable time depends on the chosen location and the style of photography.
Early morning can provide softer light, lower temperatures and fewer people in popular areas. It is particularly useful for families with young children or sessions in locations that become busy later in the day.
Late afternoon offers warmer light and the possibility of sunset photographs. However, the exact conditions will depend on the season, cloud cover and the direction of the location.
Indoor sessions, cafés, hotels and Phuket Old Town may offer more flexibility than an open beach. I recommend the starting time after considering the location, weather and type of session rather than applying the same schedule to every photoshoot.
What to Wear for Your Vacation Photoshoot
Choose clothing that feels comfortable and suits the surroundings. Light, neutral and natural colours usually work well on beaches and around tropical landscapes, but your outfits should still reflect your personal style.
For couples and families, coordination is more effective than wearing identical clothes. Try to keep the overall palette consistent while allowing each person to look like themselves.
Avoid large logos, very small repetitive patterns and uncomfortable clothing that limits movement. If you are unsure, you can send me photographs of your outfit options before the session, and I will share my recommendations.

How the Booking Process Works
1. Send Your Main Information
Your first message should include:
- Preferred date
- Hotel or area
- Number of people
- Type of session
- Any important ideas or requirements
You do not need to prepare a complete creative brief. A clear description of what you want is enough to begin.
2. Choose the Format and Location
I review your request, recommend a suitable shooting format and help you compare possible locations.
At this stage, we also discuss access restrictions, travel time and any venue permissions that may be required.
3. Confirm the Session
Once the details are agreed, we confirm the date, starting time, meeting point and final conditions.
4. Enjoy the Photoshoot
During the session, I guide you through posing and movement while leaving room for natural expressions and interactions. The experience remains organised without feeling overly controlled.
5. Receive Your Photographs
After the photoshoot, I select and professionally edit the final photographs. The delivery format and timeframe are confirmed before booking, so you know what to expect from the beginning.
Why Local Experience Matters
I have lived and worked in Phuket for more than ten years. This experience helps me understand how the island’s weather, traffic, seasonal light, tides and venue restrictions can affect a photoshoot.
Local knowledge does not guarantee perfect weather or an empty beach, but it makes planning more realistic and allows us to respond calmly when conditions change.
My aim is to keep the process clear, comfortable and personal—from the first conversation to the delivery of your completed gallery.
